Fody’s Seared Teriyaki Tuna Steaks with Sauteed Kale Ingredients:
- 2 Yellowfin (Ahi) Tuna Steaks, about 1.5” thick
- 1 tbsp of high heat cooking oil for searing
- 2 tbsp Fody’s Teriyaki Sauce
- 1 tbsp Fody’s Shallot Infused Oil
- 1 tbsp Fody’s Everyday Seasoning
- 2 tbsp orange juice (fresh squeezed)
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups kale, roughly chopped
- 2 tbsp Fody’s Shallot Infused Oil
- Salt + pepper to taste
Directions for Fody’s Seared Teriyaki Tuna Steaks with Sauteed Kale
Prepare marinade for teriyaki tuna steaks by adding all ingredients to a mixing bowl + whisking vigorously to combine. Add tuna steaks to an airtight container, pour marinade overtop ensuring the tuna is fully coated in the marinade. Marinate for 10 minutes all the way up to overnight.
When you’re ready to prepare the tuna, heat a medium non-stick skillet on medium to medium high heat until the pan is very hot. Carefully add the cooking oil to the pan, then sear the teriyaki tuna steaks, about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium rare-medium doneness.
When tuna is finished cooking, transfer to a plate to rest and begin to prepare sauteed kale.
Add kale to the same skillet used to sear the tuna along with Fody’s Shallot Oil and salt + pepper to taste. Sautee for about 5 minutes until kale is wilted but still slightly firm.
Serve alongside teriyaki tuna steaks and enjoy!
